Little Johnny Wants to play

Another day of outlash of the rain in Mumbai.. And the Mumbaikars managed to survive and life was on as usual.
Many are singing the nursery rhyme.. "Rain-Rain go away.. Lil Johnny wants to play"
The less adventurous ones stayed home and watched TV channels and patted themselves for not having left home, while the ones with the true Mumbai spirit were on the streets again.
Despite the rains washing two people to their death in the sea at Worli Seaface, there were still a thousand people by the parapet wall aagain today..
The TV channels seem to have overplayed the rains by flashing pictures of a few stray areas of flooding and making it look like a city wide chaos..
I really admire the spirit of the city and hope we stick together through the wet and the dry of life..
Here are some pictures I took from the car while driving back last evening and driving to work today..

I see the new phone is being put to work. I like the last snap the best-perfect timing.
Yes I found it quite hilarious that the TV reporters had a grim face while talking about the rain, and the people behind were dancing and jumping in the rain, overjoyed to be caught on camera

I am not quite tired of criticising the MAHA Monsoon coverage on tv.In fact for past three days Ive been idling at home part time. Taking cue from Johny's SMSes, our hyper-conscious managment has been asking us to leave office by 2.30/3.00pm.

Beg to differ on the 'stray areas' comment.

People living in or travelling to the suburbs actually had to wade through knee deep water, were stuck in trains for hours, drove through the potholed roads and waited in jams that seemed never ending.

Like they say, there is no smoke without fire..
